I have an RTX 5070 and an RTX 3060, and I'm setting up four monitors. Would it be better to connect all four displays to the 5070, or should I install and use both GPUs to spread the monitor workload across them? I'm mainly wondering whether using the 3060 for three extra monitors would improve gaming performance on the primary display.

If the RTX 5070 has enough display outputs, I’d connect all four monitors to it. A few extra desktop displays generally add very little load, so moving them to the 3060 probably won’t improve gaming performance. Using one card is also simpler and avoids extra power use and possible driver or compatibility issues.
Windows can use both GPUs, and you can choose which GPU individual applications use. However, that doesn’t combine their performance for gaming, and it adds complexity without much benefit for a normal four-monitor setup.
For everyday gaming, stick with the 5070 unless you have a specific reason to use the 3060, such as needing additional display outputs or running a separate workload. Multi-GPU gaming support is limited, and the cards won’t work together like a single faster GPU.
