I'm learning game development and want to start by building a game with the Canvas API. Is it normal to use Canvas alongside React and Vite, or should I choose a different approach? I'm having trouble finding tutorials that combine these tools, so I'd appreciate recommendations or guidance on how they fit together.

It depends on the kind of game. For graphics-heavy games with sprites, animation, or a continuously updating world, use Canvas or a game framework such as Phaser. React is generally a better fit for interface-driven games where most of the screen is buttons, text, counters, and other UI elements. Vite can still be used as the project setup either way; it doesn’t force you to render the game with React.

I’m mainly trying to learn the concepts by making a small game, so I’ll look into Phaser as well.
