My PC crashed and now it won't get past the BIOS. The SSD that normally contains Windows is being detected as 2046GB, even though it's actually a 500GB drive. DiskPart also can't read the drive or its data. Is there anything I can try before replacing the SSD, and is my motherboard potentially involved?

This looks like a hardware failure rather than a bootloader problem. Replace the NVMe/SSD first. If a known-good replacement drive also isn’t detected correctly, then the motherboard or its storage slot could be the issue.
A drive suddenly reporting the wrong capacity and becoming unreadable usually points to a failure in the SSD’s controller or firmware. In that situation, Windows repair tools and DiskPart generally won’t be able to fix it. Replacing the SSD is the most likely solution.
So there probably isn’t another software-based fix I can try before replacing the drive?
