I've just got an external CD/DVD drive—specifically the YOTUO IDD02-2—and I'm trying to burn DVDs for the first time. I've had success with CDs using CDBurnerXP, but burning DVDs hasn't gone well at all. I've tried multiple programs like ImgBurn, Yuhan Blu-Ray/DVD Creator, DVDStyler, and even the Windows file explorer, but nothing seems to work. It's odd because after all the failed DVD burns, I was able to burn CDs again without a hitch. I'm really not sure what the issue is with the DVDs.

Are you trying to copy commercial DVDs? Just checking because there are legal limitations there that might cause issues.
Looks like you're in luck! You might want to check out MakeMKV for your DVD burning needs. It's a solid option and might just do the trick for you!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely give it a shot and see if it works.
It could be that your drive has specific preferences for different types of DVDs. Some brands work better with particular burners, so it might not like the Verbatim discs you're using. I’d suggest researching compatible brands or types for your drive. And remember, different formats like DVD-R versus DVD+R can be a deal breaker too. Verbatim is usually a good choice for reliability, so stick with that if it supports it!
That makes sense! I’ll look for some reviews or guides on my drive to see what DVDs it focuses on.

Nope! It's all good; I'm just burning some footage from a buddy’s band performance.
