Thinking About Switching to Linux for Gaming: Is It Worth It?

With the recent announcement about the end of support for Windows 10 and growing concerns about data security, I'm considering making the switch to Linux. I'm a gamer who mostly plays last-gen, double-A, or indie titles. How feasible is it to transition to Linux for gaming?

It's really not as sudden as you might think; Microsoft made the announcement back in 2023. If you're not into online games that require kernel-level anti-cheat, you should be good. I haven't used Windows at home for almost two years now and play a variety of modern offline games. Most run smoothly on Linux these days. Sometimes you just have to be patient while Proton updates, but it usually works out fine.

I totally get you! It's kind of sudden in the sense that it hits home when you realize how exposed you are to security issues, which makes the whole switch seem urgent.
