My build includes some solid hardware: an Aorus x870e WiFi motherboard, 64GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM, an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X CPU, and an MSI 5070 GPU.
I primarily use my PC for gaming—big titles for me are World of Warcraft and some Steam games like Dune Awakening and Cyberpunk 2077. I've checked and found that most of my favorites can run on Linux, but I'm curious—what's a good beginner-friendly Linux distro for a newbie like me? I'd suggest trying out Linux Mint if you're looking for a Windows-like experience, or Ubuntu if you want something a bit different. Both are great for beginners and have solid support!
Garuda Dragonized is a solid option, and there are others like Bazzite that are also recommended for gaming. Just keep in mind that not all games run perfectly on Linux, even though things have improved a lot. If you use Steam, definitely check out ProtonDB to see how your games fare on Linux, and look into guides for running World of Warcraft, as there are some decent resources out there for that.
Linux Mint has been fantastic for me so far! I chose it because it offers excellent hardware support and feels very familiar if you're coming from Windows. If you're interested in something more cutting-edge, CachyOS could be worth a look—it's Arch-based, so you get updates quicker. Just remember, if you want something that runs smoothly without much fuss, Mint's the way to go.
