Tips for Building and Hosting a Church Website

I'm about to create a website for my church, and I'm having a meeting with them to discuss their needs. I'm not really sure what questions I should be asking, or if they'll just tell me what they want. Also, I'm unclear on how to deliver the website once it's done. Should I just provide the files and wish them luck, or is it better to host the website for them? I'm still pretty new to this since I haven't hosted a website before, but I've designed some solid sites already.

Definitely have a workflow plan before you start taking on clients! It would be best to host the website for them and consider charging a monthly fee for that service.

Are you planning to use something like WordPress, or will you go the custom route?

CreativeCactus42: Iโ€™m not using a CMS โ€” I'm building it from scratch with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Since you're new and starting from scratch, I usually suggest checking out Laravel starter kits, but you'd need some basic PHP knowledge. First, gather a list of what they want and start researching. And donโ€™t set a strict timeline for completion! If you decide to learn Laravel, there's a great community and plenty of resources to help you out if you have questions!
