Trouble Connecting My CPU Power Cable, What Should I Do?

I'm having a tough time connecting my 8-pin CPU power cable. It used to be attached, but now it's come apart and I can't get it to click back together. I'm even considering getting a new power supply because of this issue. Any suggestions?

Make sure you're using the correct connector type. For example, a PCIe 6+2 won't fit into an EPS 4+4 slot. Check again if it's the right one.

Try connecting the smaller part of the cable first, then push in the larger section. It might make it easier to seat them properly.

TechieTim89: It is the right one—it's a 4+4. I was able to snap some parts together, but getting all of them to stay clicked is the tricky part.
DIYDude55: If it's designed to snap on, make sure it's not getting caught on anything when you try to reconnect it.
