Trouble Launching Resident Evil 5 on Steam: Error 0xc00000005 and Missing Files

I'm having a really frustrating issue with Resident Evil 5 on Steam. Every time I try to launch the game, I get an error code: 0xc00000005, which means there's an access violation. The game either won't start at all or it crashes immediately. I've already tried a lot of different solutions, like reinstalling the game multiple times, verifying the game files (which Steam says are about 200 missing files but doesn't actually redownload them), and even completely reinstalling Steam. I've done fresh installs of Windows three times, installed all Visual C++ Redistributables from 2005 to 2022, and DirectX 9 (June 2010). I've also disabled antivirus, run the game as Administrator, and tested it on another PC, but the same problem occurs. It's important to note that even on a different PC, Steam still fails to restore those missing files.

Have you tried using RE5fix? It's a tool specifically meant to fix issues with Resident Evil 5, and it might resolve your error. If you're not using it yet, I definitely recommend giving it a shot. Let me know if that helps!

I tried RE5fix, but it just gave me a black screen when I launched the game. It starts, but I can't see anything!
