Hey everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with my computer lately. It goes into sleep mode just fine, but I can't wake it up or get any display on my monitor after that. Sometimes it blinks with a grey color, or briefly shows my desktop before turning black again. I've tried various fixes like restarting, unplugging and reinserting the HDMI cable—sometimes that works, but it feels hit or miss. Recently, I messed with some power options, and now I have absolutely no display, whether my monitor is connected to the GPU or not. Any help or suggestions would be super appreciated! My setup is an AMD FX-6300 with an Nvidia 1060 3GB graphics card.

This sounds like a common issue with sleep and GPU connections, especially for older AMD FX systems. First, try doing a full power drain: shut your PC down completely, unplug it, hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds, then plug it back in. You might also want to reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for a minute. After that, connect your monitor directly to the GPU and see if that sorts it out.
If the monitor still blinks even when it's unplugged, it might be the monitor itself. Switch out the cable or try a different port on the GPU if you can. If nothing else works, consider disabling sleep mode altogether and just use hibernation. Those older setups can really struggle with waking from sleep, especially if you’re using Nvidia cards.

That's interesting! But if the monitor is connected and it's not showing 'No signal detected,' it might really be malfunctioning. My monitor just completely blacks out now, but at least the power light blinks. I tried it with my laptop too, and it didn’t work there either, while a different monitor showed up fine. I think my monitor might have died unexpectedly.
