Trouble with AM5 and MSI Expo: Memory Issues

I'm experiencing a common problem with my MSI MPG B650 WiFi motherboard. Whenever I enable Expo, my system fails to post and gets stuck during memory training, indicated by a solid red and orange LED light. I've been using my system for about two years, and after the first year, I found that it couldn't reset properly; now, it's even locking up on power down and up. I believe Expo is the culprit since turning it off resolves the issues. However, I want to retain some performance gains from Expo. I don't have stability problems during operation after posting, but this boot issue is really frustrating. My specs include a 7800X3D processor and 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (6000/30/36/36/76/1.4v). Any tips would be appreciated!

I’m not entirely sure about the exact cause, but you might want to check if disabling 'memory context restore' helps. Also, if you can find the UCLK-MCLK ratio settings in your BIOS, try booting with Expo enabled and manually set it to a 1:2 ratio. It won't be optimal for performance but might change how your system behaves. If the IMC is limited, consider loading Expo and then gradually reducing your RAM speed by 200 increments to test for stability. The performance hit is minor, and often not tweaking can lead to bigger losses.

I started having the same red and orange LED problems too. I recommend disabling Expo to see if that fixes it. It's worth a shot since it shouldn't cause harm to your system. From what I've gathered, the Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) might not handle the Expo overclock very well, so you could try manual overclocking for similar performance without the issues.
