Trouble with RAM Compatibility and Motherboard Slots

I originally had a set of 2x16GB Trident Z5 RGB RAM sticks, but I reached the limits of my system's memory. So, I decided to buy an additional 2x16GB sticks that I thought were the same as my existing ones. However, when I installed all 4 sticks together, my PC failed to POST and showed a yellow DRAM light. The model numbers of the sticks are:

- Old sticks: F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5NR
- New sticks: F5-6000J3636F16GA2-TZ5RK

I have tested each RAM kit separately and they work fine on their own, but when I tried single sticks in different slots (following the manual's A2 and B2 recommendations), they only functioned in those specific slots. I also noticed that the 1st and 3rd DIMM slots feel a bit clunky. I'm not sure if the issue is with those slots on the motherboard or if the slight difference in model number is causing the problem.

Just to clarify, if the PC doesn't POST or enter the BIOS, could that configuration issue be affected by XMP settings? I'm not super knowledgeable about the start-up process.

Yeah, that's a great question! If your system doesn't even reach the BIOS, those settings might not even come into play yet since it's a hardware issue preventing startup.

It sounds like your setup might be having issues because DDR5 RAM often struggles to run with all four sticks installed. I recommend trying to run them with XMP or EXPO settings off. If that doesn't help, you might be out of luck with compatibility considering the different SKUs of RAM you have.

Hey, one quick tip! If your RGB lights are turned on, that usually indicates that the RAM is seated properly. It’s not a definite fix, but it’s a good sign. Since you mentioned that the 1st and 3rd slots feel clunky, it might be worth checking whether those slots are indeed functional or not.
