Trouble with USB Controller Causing Power Surge Errors

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my USB Controller (it's a shifter) that initially worked fine but then started showing a "Power Surge on USB Port" error. I even tried plugging it into a different laptop that had previously worked with the controller, but I'm still getting the same error.
At the time, I had the USB ports on my case being used for my steering wheel and two of the same controllers/shifters. Could I have damaged the controller?

It sounds like your shifter could be the culprit here. If you're getting the power surge error on multiple devices, there's a good chance the issue lies with the controller itself. I'd recommend checking the USB connector for any visible damages, like bent pins or a crushed connector. Also, inspect the cable for any cuts or kinks.
If everything looks fine externally, there might be an internal short or electronic damage, which can be tough to diagnose without the proper experience.

It's definitely possible your controller is fried, especially if you're seeing that error on different computers. Don't forget to check for any loose connections as well. Sometimes it's just a matter of a bad cable or a loose plug that can cause these issues.
