Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to use DeepSeek through OpenRouter, and I'm a bit lost with the provider settings. I currently have DeepSeek set as my default model, but I'm not sure if I need to select 'DeepSeek' as my provider or if other providers can also work with it. What happens if no provider is selected? I've noticed that the default is set to balanced, which I'm guessing means it uses a mix of providers.
Also, what's the deal with 'Allowed' and 'Ignored' settings? Do I need to select anything there to enhance my experience? Honestly, I'm just looking for some guidance on how to set this up for the best results when using DeepSeek. Any help would be super appreciated!

From what I've gathered, when you use OpenRouter, it connects to DeepSeek through a third-party provider, unlike Silly Tavern, which uses the DeepSeek API directly. This means the provider could make some changes that you wouldn't see. I've noticed I rarely get a busy response when using the DeepSeek API directly. If you're doing tasks like coding or math, you might want to tone down the temperature and top P parameters. Just keep in mind that OpenRouter resets your settings every time, which can be a hassle.
So should I stick with the default provider on OpenRouter, or is it just as effective if I don’t choose one? I'm a bit confused about what you said. Should I switch to Silly Tavern instead? I already spent money on OpenRouter and don’t want to waste it!
