Unexpected PDF Popup on iOS – What’s Going On?

I've been using iOS 18.7, and while I was reading an article on a website (Glamour), I navigated back to my Google search results. Suddenly, a pop-up appeared really quickly, and I couldn't catch the full text, but it seemed to be asking if I wanted to save the article as a PDF. I didn't activate reader mode or share anything; the only extension I have is an ad blocker. Does anyone know what might have triggered this?

I've had something similar happen! It's possible that certain sites have scripts that trigger a PDF option if the browser detects you're navigating a lot. Since you've only got an ad blocker, it shouldn't be influencing this. Maybe try clearing your browser's cache to see if that helps.

Good idea! Clearing the cache can often resolve these types of issues. Just make sure to save any important tabs before you do!

It sounds like a glitch that might happen with certain browser actions. On iOS, sometimes when you go back from a webpage, if it thinks your previous state permits saving as a PDF, it might briefly show that pop-up. Since you're on iOS 18.7, you might want to look into upgrading if it's a persistent issue, especially since new versions often fix bugs like this. But ensure to check user feedback about any major bugs before upgrading to a new version!

Yeah, I've noticed similar things when toggling between apps. It could just be a hiccup in how iOS handles webpage sessions.
