Upgrading My Gaming PC: Is an i7-14700k Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm currently running a gaming setup with a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, an Asus TUF Gaming B660M motherboard, and an Intel Core i5 12400 CPU. I feel like the CPU is bottlenecking my performance, especially since I'm interested in streaming as well. I'm considering an upgrade to an i7-14700k. Has anyone done this? Will it work smoothly with my setup? Any tips or issues I should be aware of?

Absolutely, you can upgrade to the i7-14700k without any major issues! Your motherboard has good VRM capabilities, so it should handle it just fine. Just keep in mind that while the i5-14600k is also a solid choice, it’s not going to give you much of a bump in gaming performance compared to what you have now. The i7-14700k, however, will definitely amp things up! Just make sure to do a BIOS update when you install it due to some past Intel stability issues.

Thanks for the heads up on the BIOS update! I'll definitely look into that.
