I'm considering an upgrade to my PC setup, primarily focusing on the CPU and motherboard. Currently, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 7 with an AM4 motherboard, but I'd like to switch to an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I understand that this means I will need to upgrade to a compatible AM5 motherboard and DDR5 RAM as well. I'm curious about whether my other existing components will work with this upgrade. Also, if anyone has suggestions for a decent motherboard priced between $200 and $300, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your help!

Just a heads up, upgrading to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will require not only a new motherboard but also DDR5 RAM, which can make the whole upgrade cost around $1000. If you've got a Microcenter nearby, you might get better deals, though!

You could definitely upgrade with the new CPU, but you don’t need an expensive motherboard; even a basic one will work fine. Just keep in mind the cost of everything else.
