Hey everyone! I have an R7 2700 with an RTX 2060, and honestly, it's starting to feel a bit outdated. With RAM prices climbing, I'm curious about the best upgrade route I should take without breaking the bank. I'd like to play most games (primarily simulator types like Arma), and I'm hoping to keep my spending under $750. I'm considering selling my old system but would love any suggestions on components!

If you want to stick with what you have, consider upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D or 5800X3D. Both will offer a significant boost in gaming performance and you can keep your current AM4 platform, just make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date. Alternatively, you could look into the Intel 14th Gen options like the 14600K or 14700K which will also work with your existing DDR4 RAM. Just grab a DDR4-specific motherboard for those.
The usual favorites like the 5700X3D and 5800X3D are getting hard to find and expensive now. If those are not options, look for a used Ryzen 5600 or even a 5700X or 5800X if the prices are right. For GPUs, there's a good selection available now, including options like RTX 5070 or RX 9070, especially if you go for used parts.
Unfortunately, RAM prices have shot up because of demand from AI servers, making new builds much pricier. Luckily, you already have an AM4 motherboard, so it makes sense to focus your budget on a new CPU and GPU. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is a fantastic choice for Arma due to its 3D V-Cache which helps with frame stutters. Pair that with an RX 9060 XT 16GB for solid 1080p or 1440p performance and you’re set! Just check that your power supply is at least 600W.

That's solid advice! Do you have any recommendations for GPUs that would pair well with those CPUs?
