Using 8-Pin Cables for My New RTX 5080: What’s Best?

Hey everyone, I'm upgrading from an RTX 3070 Ti to an RTX 5080 and I've got a question about power connections. I currently have one daisy-chained/pigtailed cable that's split into two 8-pin cables. I also have two additional separate cables. The new 50 series adapter for the GPU requires three cables. Should I go with all three separate cables even if one of them has a pigtail? Or do you think it's fine if I use one cable with its normal and pigtailed end, along with one other cable that uses just one end? Thanks for your input!

If you have all the cables, I'd recommend using all three separate ones. It's generally better for power distribution.

Yeah, that makes sense! Thanks for the advice!

Using separate cables is usually the way to go for stability. But honestly, the split end should work fine by specs too, so you're not at risk pulling one way or another.

Alright, thanks! That’s good to know!
