Was $1,300 a Good Price for This Used Gaming PC Without a GPU?

I bought a used gaming PC in Brooklyn for $1,300. The seller had removed the RTX 5090 for another build, but I tested the system before buying it and everything appeared to work properly. The PC was assembled on May 28, 2025, and I'm planning to install an RTX 5070 Ti. Does this seem like a great deal, or merely a fair price for the hardware? The components are a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Thermaltake 360mm liquid cooler, 64GB of TeamGroup T-Force DDR5-6000 memory, an ASRock X870 Pro RS WiFi motherboard, an MSI MAG 1250W PCIe 5 Gold-rated power supply, and a 2TB Samsung 9100 Pro SSD. The system is in a large case with seven fans, including the radiator fans.

You can compare each part with current retail and used prices, but remember that used components should be discounted and the system has no GPU included. Based on the listed CPU, motherboard, memory, storage, cooler, case, and power supply, the price sounds reasonable to good—especially since you tested it first. Before installing the new card, check temperatures, run a longer memory and CPU test, inspect the liquid cooler for leaks or pump noise, and confirm the seller included the correct modular PSU cables.

Those are all strong, current-generation parts, and the 1250W power supply is more than enough for a 5070 Ti. Since everything is used and the graphics card was removed, I wouldn’t call it an unbelievable steal, but $1,300 is still a solid price if the components are healthy and you can verify their condition. The Gold rating describes efficiency, not overall quality, so the exact PSU model and its warranty are worth checking.

Agreed. The RAM and SSD alone represent a substantial portion of the price when new, and the 9950X3D is still a valuable processor. It’s a good deal on high-end used hardware, just not an absurdly underpriced one.
