Hey everyone! I'm planning to get an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB mainly for playing AAA titles in 4K (about 90% of the time). I'm looking for a solid AMD CPU, but my budget doesn't stretch to the 9800X3D or 7800X3D. Can anyone suggest a good CPU around those models? Thanks a bunch!

At 4K resolution, the performance differences are pretty marginal. A 9700X will give you similar performance to the 9800X3D. X3D CPUs mainly shine in esports at lower resolutions. At higher resolutions, your GPU is the main bottleneck, so even a 5800X3D will perform close to a 9800X3D.

If you're considering an X3D model, the 7500X3D is a good pick. Otherwise, CPUs like the 7500F, 7600X, 7700X, or even the 9600X and 9700X should all perform well at 4K. Just steer clear of the 8400F, it's not worth it.

An Intel 12700K would be another solid choice. It's competitively priced, performs nearly on par with the 9800X3D, and is efficient in terms of power.

I suggest going for at least the 5600X3D or higher. You wouldn't really need more than that, but it’s better not to go lower.

Do you already have a CPU? If you're starting fresh, consider something like the 5700X or 5800XT; they're excellent choices.
