What are good alternatives to GIMP for simple image editing on Debian?

I'm looking for a straightforward paint program for my Debian system. When I try to edit any image, GIMP opens, but it's quite complex for the small edits I need, like cut, copy, and basic editing. What do you suggest?

Have you checked out Pinta? It has a simple interface and is great for quick edits. Definitely a good alternative for basic tasks!

LazPaint could be what you're looking for if you want something very similar to Microsoft Paint. Pinta is also great if you're looking for something akin to Paint.NET.

I recommend Krita if you want something a bit more robust but still manageable. It's pretty feature-rich without the complexity of GIMP. It's great for artists too if that's your jam!

KolourPaint is another option you might want to consider! It's user-friendly and does the trick for simple tasks.
