I'm looking for a free or inexpensive app or mobile-friendly website where I can learn a beginner programming language in about 10 minutes a day. My goal is to build something practical eventually, possibly a simple app, rather than only watch videos or read lessons. Interactive exercises would be especially helpful. What resources or learning paths would you recommend?

For interactive Python practice, try a browser-based coding course such as Codecademyโ€™s introductory Python material or freeCodeCampโ€™s lessons. Both let you write and run code directly, and you can use them from a phone browser, although a larger screen will be more comfortable.

Scrimba is worth checking out because its lessons combine short videos with an in-browser code editor. For additional explanations and project ideas, channels such as Traversy Media, JavaScript Mastery, and Bro Code offer useful beginner tutorials. Start with one structured course rather than jumping between too many resources.

Ten minutes a day can be enough to make steady progress if you practice consistently. Python is a great starting point because the syntax is relatively beginner-friendly. Look for interactive lessons that give you a small problem to solve and immediately run your code, instead of relying only on videos.
