What are some good pointing devices for playing mouse-driven games from bed?

I'm looking for ways to control mouse-driven games like Age of Empires from bed due to my condition (ME/CFS). I've set up my PC for easy access, but I'd love to find a suitable pointing device for gaming while reclining. I've mainly been using a gamepad and a Logitech K400+ for basic navigation and some keyboard functions, but I miss playing those RTS games that require more precise control. Any suggestions on devices that would make this possible?

A wireless mouse could work fine, too! Just get a solid mouse pad or something similar to use on your bed. It’s a simple solution that has worked for a lot of people.

Have you thought about using a trackball mouse? They're super handy since you only have to move your thumb, leaving the mouse itself stationary. It's a game changer when you're lounging! Also, a lap desk could provide a stable surface for a more traditional mouse if that's more your style.

Steam’s built-in keybinding options are great! You can set almost any Bluetooth controller to function like a keyboard and mouse. Just bind the sticks to keyboard keys and you’re set for gaming without the need for a physical mouse.

I love using a trackball! I’ve been using an Elecom trackball mouse for over a year and it’s awesome. The mouse stays in place, and you control the cursor by rolling the ball with your fingers. It takes a little getting used to, but it’s perfect for playing games from bed.

If you have a wireless mouse, why not just use it on the arm of your chair or even one of the cushions on your bed? I’ve been doing it for years, and it works like a charm. You could also consider a gyro mouse that doesn't need a surface – just point it wherever you want the cursor to go.
