What are the best budget-friendly ergonomic office chairs under $300?

I'm in the market for an ergonomic office chair that costs less than $300. I realize that's a tight budget, so I'm not looking for anything extravagant. My main goal is to find something comfortable enough for both working and gaming sessions that could last a few hours without causing back pain. I'm open to buying used chairs as well. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated!

For under $300, also consider visiting a used office furniture store where you can actually try out chairs. You might stumble upon some Herman Miller or Steelcase options in your price range!

You can check out platforms like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist to find used chairs from brands like Herman Miller or Steelcase. They often pop up from office clearouts and can be a great deal if you're lucky!

I've seen some Herman Miller chairs on Facebook Marketplace, but I'm a bit worried about their legitimacy. Are they usually reliable? I previously had a DXRacer from 2018.

eBay can also be a good option, especially if local stores aren't available. I scored a Steelcase Leap in mint condition for $225, and even got a free replacement after a shipping mishap!

I once found a chair that retailed over $1000 for just $250 on Facebook Marketplace—it was a Steelcase Leap and still in great shape. A solid find if you're patient enough to browse around!

You might also want to consider the Ikea Markus chair—it’s well-rated and usually within budget.

I've tried a few chairs recently while searching for the perfect ergonomic option for both work and gaming. I ended up going with the Ikea Styrspel chair, and it’s surprisingly great! I’m quite tall (about 6'6") and it fits me well. The mesh design is really comfortable, unlike PU leather which I've had issues with. I bought mine second-hand for around €100, and my wife ended up getting one too after seeing how much I liked it!

If you can catch a good deal, definitely look for used Herman Miller or Steelcase chairs. They might be priced higher typically, but worth checking out local marketplaces.
