I've recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1660 Super to a 9060 XT with 16GB of RAM. Initially, I wanted to build a new AM5 system, but the soaring RAM prices have changed my plans. I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and my main focus isn't gaming but rather creative applications like Maya, ZBrush, Blender, and Unreal Engine. I'm wondering if there are any worthwhile CPU upgrades available for my AM4 setup that would genuinely enhance my performance, considering I was managing fine with the previous GPU and CPU combination.

If you're on a tight budget, I've seen the 5600 go for under 80 bucks used, which is a great deal. The 5700X3D or 5800X3D are more powerful but pricey due to the current RAM market.
Honestly, almost any upgrade will feel like a boost. Even something like the 5600X should give you noticeable improvement. Just make sure to also invest in a good cooler to handle increased performance.
Any Zen 3 CPU will offer a decent upgrade, but personally, I'd skip the 5700X3D and 5800X3D since they can cost over $300. For that price, you might as well get an AM5 setup, which could be a better long-term investment.
You could definitely look into the Ryzen 5000 series. The 5700X or 5800X are solid choices. If you need more cores for your creative software, the 5900X or even the 5900XT are also worth considering.
Don't forget to check how much RAM you have currently! Creative applications can be pretty demanding when it comes to memory.
