What are the best music visualizers for streaming on PC, phone, and TV?

I really miss the old Winamp-era visualizers, especially the huge variety of MilkDrop-style effects. With most music now played through streaming services, what are the best ways to get reactive visuals on a computer, phone, Chromecast or smart TV? I'm open to using an existing player, a separate visualizer that listens to system audio, or an app that works across multiple platforms.

There are plenty of standalone desktop visualizers, including XMusicVisualizer and similar tools. The difficult part is finding one that also supports Android and casting to a TV; most of the polished options are still desktop-only.

There are newer dedicated visualizer apps that work alongside any streaming player. Vibralizer is one example, with lots of music-reactive artwork and effects, while other projects are trying to bring the classic Geiss and MilkDrop look into modern graphics engines. Desktop support is more common right now, with TV and mobile versions still being less consistent.

You can still install Winamp and use MilkDrop. Webamp and Butterchurn are also worth checking out if you want browser-based or modernized versions of that style.

On macOS, the Music app still includes the classic built-in visualizer. It’s probably the simplest option if you’re already playing music there.

ProjectM is a solid free alternative, particularly on Windows. You run Spotify or another audio source separately, and ProjectM reacts to the system audio. It’s available for desktop and mobile, although I find MilkDrop’s presets a little better.
