I'm looking to upgrade to a 4K monitor primarily for gaming, and I want to make sure I choose wisely to avoid buyer's regret. I'm into a mix of single-player games and competitive titles, so I need something that offers excellent image quality without sacrificing smooth performance. Here are my priorities:
• A sharp and clean 4K picture
• A high refresh rate if possible
• Low input lag
• Great HDR quality (not fake HDR)
• Sturdy build and stand
If you've upgraded recently, what did you go for and are you satisfied with your choice?

I recently bought the Samsung Odyssey G8 (G81SF). It's a flat screen 32" 4K QD-OLED with a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.3ms response time. The colors are incredible, and it’s easy on the eyes—I got it at a good price too. There’s tons of great options out there—it really depends on what you value most in a monitor!
Totally agree! It's all about preferences. I find curved displays a bit disorienting.
The ROG XG27UCDMG is a fantastic choice, though it may be a bit pricey. I've tried a few monitors in the past, and this one has the best picture quality I've seen. It really stands out for its clarity and performance! Definitely worth the investment though—it’s about $900 but often has solid deals.
That's exactly what you're looking for! I made the switch from a Samsung Odyssey G7 to one of these, and it feels like you're looking through a window when you're gaming. The glossy finish really makes the colors pop!
I got mine for $600 through a marketplace deal. Definitely worth it! It’s an amazing upgrade.
I went with a QD-OLED MSI 32" 240Hz monitor for my new build, and I'm in love with it! The colors are vibrant and the refresh rate is smooth. If you can swing it, I’d recommend checking similar models out! It's been a game changer for me.
I’m using the same monitor and couldn’t be happier. It’s just stunning!
You should definitely check out reviews on RTings.com. Right now, OLEDs are the pinnacle of performance, albeit at a higher price point. Just watch out for potential screen burn-in issues!
If you're okay with the latest, any OLED or QD-OLEDs released this year are quite impressive! They're great for both gaming and everyday use, just be cautious about burn-in.

LOL! I thought I was buying one of those too, but ended up with the Neo G8. Huge difference from a flat! Just make sure it aligns with how you game.
