What are the best portable PC gaming options for work and home?

I'm looking for a portable PC gaming option that I can use both at work and at home since I have a lot of downtime during work hours. While most people would suggest getting a gaming laptop, I don't really need the built-in screen, keyboard, or speakers. I've considered mini PCs, but I've heard they tend to be less powerful. I also looked into mini ITX builds that are more portable, but I'm not comfortable building one and can't find any pre-built models nearby. What would be the best solution for my situation?

You might want to consider a gaming laptop, but if you are set on a portable option, keep an eye on the Steam Machines when they launch. They look promising for gaming on the go!

What kind of games are you planning to play and what resolution do you prefer? Knowing that can really help narrow down the options.

I mostly play competitive shooters at 144Hz 1080p. The most demanding game I play is Marvel Rivals, but I run it on low settings with performance upscaling.

Have you thought about the Steam Deck? It's designed for portable gaming and comes with Steam already installed. Just make sure it meets your performance needs first!

I love my Steam Deck for various games, but I'm not sure if it'll be powerful enough for your requirements.
