We're transitioning from Meraki equipment to Fortinet in our business, and I'm on the lookout for reliable temperature and humidity monitoring solutions for our server rooms. We have a main server room with two racks and a satellite server room. What do you all recommend?

Currently, we use Vertiv Geist. Although I think it's a bit pricey, it gets the job done. We used to rely on AVTECH Room Alert but experienced too many hardware failures, although that might have changed by now!

Have you noticed any bugs with the recent Vertiv hardware? Some of my new RDU120s have had a few issues.

I highly recommend the Room Alert system. We've been using it for a while, and it has proven to be really reliable!

+1 for Room Alert – absolutely no issues with it so far!

We've got AVTECH Room Alert devices and had minor issues, having to replace just one unit out of 16. Otherwise, they’ve been performing well. It's worth checking out.

For a more DIY approach, I’d suggest using Home Assistant with ESP32 sensors. They work great in a home lab setting, but I'm not sure if it's robust enough for enterprise use.

Sounds tempting, but I agree on the reliability factor for more serious setups!

We purchased the environmental management module for our APC UPS, and it's been working just fine for our monitoring needs. We are considering it as a temporary solution too since our UPS has several years left.

That sounds promising; hoping it serves you well in the long run!
