What budget-friendly GPU should I consider to upgrade from my GT 1030?

Hey everyone! I'm currently running a PC that has an NVIDIA GT 1030 (2GB), 16GB of RAM, and an Intel i5-2500 processor. While it's still doing its job for basic tasks, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card for better performance, especially for light gaming and using PyTorch with CUDA support. Ideally, I'd prefer another NVIDIA GPU, but I'm open to other options if they make more sense for value or performance. For some context, I've also used a Radeon RX 580 (with 8GB VRAM) in the past and liked its performance. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on cost-effective graphics card upgrades that will give me a noticeable boost! Thanks!

If you’re aiming for more power, a 3060 (or the Ti version) could really boost your performance. You might want to check your PSU though, as you may need a better one depending on your current setup.

I’ve heard that a 3060 Ti could be overkill for my i5-2500. Is that true?

Honestly, it really depends on your budget. A used 3060 Ti could be a game changer for you if you’re not playing super demanding games. But don’t forget, the i5-2500 might limit you a bit.

A GTX 1650 could be a solid option for your setup. It should provide a noticeable upgrade over your GT 1030 without breaking the bank.

If you want something more budget-oriented, consider a 1050 Ti or a 1660 Super. They’re worth looking into if you’re not planning to upgrade your CPU anytime soon.
