What camera can I mount on regular glasses or sunglasses?

I'm looking for an external camera that can attach to ordinary glasses or sunglasses. It would mainly be for situations where both hands are occupied, such as playing with my kids or recording activities around the house and backyard. I'm not interested in smart glasses with built-in features, and I want something suitable for private or clearly consent-based settings rather than filming unsuspecting people in public.

A chest harness could work if you donโ€™t need the exact perspective of your eyes. Itโ€™s often more comfortable for longer recordings and less likely to shift while youโ€™re moving around.

Look at headband mounts made for hiking, tennis, cycling, or snowboarding. Theyโ€™re generally more secure than trying to clamp a camera onto eyeglass frames, and some mounts can also be worn with sunglasses.

A GoPro or similar action camera with a head strap or chin strap is probably the simplest option. It wonโ€™t attach directly to the glasses, but it gives a stable, hands-free point of view and is designed for movement.

There are camera-equipped glasses and small wearable cameras, but privacy concerns and recording indicators make them a poor choice around strangers. For a home, garage, or backyard setup, a small action camera on a headbandโ€”or even mounted to a toy vehicleโ€”would be more practical and easier for people to understand.
