My dad has an old Amazon Fire tablet that's showing a rainbow effect on the screen when he tilts it. I'm not sure if this is due to a polarized cover, a missing polarized coating, or if it indicates a deeper internal issue. I'm looking for some advice on what steps we can take next to troubleshoot this problem.

A good first step is to try a factory reset on the tablet. If the rainbow effect persists after the reset, it might point to a hardware issue.
