Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for the best code editor for web development. I've heard a lot about VSCode from one friend, but then there are others who say while it's great for many things, there are editors that excel in specific areas. What code editors do you use and why? I'd love to get some perspectives on this. Thanks!

VS Code is pretty much the go-to choice these days! Most developers use it, but if you're willing to spend a bit, JetBrains IDEs are excellent too. They offer a whole suite of features that really cater to professional needs, especially for languages like Java and Python. Plus, the AI-powered IDEs like Cursor are cropping up, but they tend to be based on VSCode.

JetBrains like PhpStorm was great when I had my student email. It's been years since I switched to VSCode, and honestly, I'm not missing much. Sure, the settings can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but its lightweight nature and extensive extensions more than make up for it!
