I'm putting together a new gaming PC centered around an MSI RTX 4070 12GB. Budget isn't a concern, so I'm looking for the strongest CPU and RAM combination to pair with it. I'd mainly like excellent gaming performance, but I'm also curious whether the build should account for tasks such as AI experimentation or other productivity workloads.

If you plan to do substantial non-gaming work, an Intel processor could be worth considering because of its strong multicore performance and broader productivity strengths. An Intel Core i5-13600K paired with the RTX 4070 is already a capable combination, though a higher-end Core i7 or i9 would make more sense if your workloads regularly use many CPU cores. For gaming alone, the X3D Ryzen chips are generally the more appealing choice.
A Ryzen 7 7800X3D paired with 32GB of DDR5-6000 works very well with the RTX 4070. It should handle modern games smoothly at high settings, and the combination gives you plenty of gaming performance without needing an extreme amount of memory.
What sort of frame rates and image quality do you typically get, and which games have you tested? I’m also wondering whether this setup is suitable for some AI-related workloads.
