What CPU Cooler Should I Get for an Intel Core Ultra 5 250KF?

I'm using a Rise Mode Storm 8 cooler with an Intel Core Ultra 5 250KF. Although the cooler is supposedly rated to handle the processor's maximum power, the CPU overheats in some games and applications and has even caused the system to shut down after 30–40 minutes. What cooler would you recommend in the $50–$100 range?

The cooler itself may not be the only factor here. What case are you using, and how many intake and exhaust fans does it have? A case with restricted airflow can make even a decent CPU cooler perform badly.

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE would be a strong choice in that price range. Its dual-tower design should provide plenty of cooling capacity for this processor.

Before replacing the cooler, try removing and remounting it with fresh thermal paste. A properly installed dual-tower cooler should generally handle this CPU. Also test the system with the case side panel removed. If temperatures drop significantly, the main problem is probably poor case airflow rather than the cooler itself.

I’ll try remounting it and testing with the side panel off. Thanks for the suggestions.
