What CPU should I upgrade to for better performance?

I'm currently using an i5 9600K, which has been great, but I'm worried it won't keep up with newer games. I'm looking for recommendations on a CPU that can work well with my GeForce 3060 Ti and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz). Ideally, I want to upgrade just the CPU and possibly the motherboard too. I'd appreciate suggestions that offer the best performance or great value.

If you want to keep your 3060 Ti running smoothly, consider the Ryzen 5800X or even the 5600X. You'll likely need a new motherboard, but these are decent upgrades from your 9600K without costing a fortune. I've heard great things about the new 7000 series too, but they might be overkill if you're looking for value.

I was in the same boat with the i5 9600K for about 7-8 years before upgrading to the Ryzen 7800X3D. It was a massive upgrade for me!

Upgrading your CPU will probably mean you'll need a new motherboard. The Intel LGA1700 CPUs are budget-friendly and can work with your DDR4 RAM. I recently got an i5-12600KF for around $150 and it's been amazing!

Check out the i5-12600KF paired with a B760 DDR4 motherboard. It's a solid option for the price!

I would recommend looking into the i5-14600K. It can be overclocked to around 5.6 GHz with just a little extra power. Many people talk about the 12600K, but the 14600K generally has better performance and overclocking potential, although prices have gone up recently.
