I'm planning to buy the parts in my build today and PCPartPicker is showing this warning: the Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX motherboard supports the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, but it may require BIOS version F30 or newer. Is this a serious compatibility problem, and is there anything else I should change or add before ordering the parts?

The motherboard is compatible with the Ryzen 5 9600X, but an older BIOS may not recognize the processor. The board has Q-Flash Plus, so you can update the BIOS using a USB drive even before installing the CPU, RAM, or graphics card. It may also be worth considering a stronger motherboard, an SSD with onboard DRAM, a better CPU cooler, and an A-rated power supply if those alternatives fit your budget.
This is not a major issue. Download the latest BIOS from Gigabyte on another computer, format a USB drive as instructed in the motherboard manual, and copy the BIOS file to it. Rename it if the instructions require that, plug it into the dedicated BIOS flashback port, and press the Q-Flash Plus button. Wait for the indicator to finish before removing the drive or turning off the system. You can do this before starting the build, with the CPU still safely in its box, and you don’t need a CPU, memory, monitor, or operating system installed.
