What File Sharing Solutions Work in China?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on file-sharing software that can be used effectively in China. With the government's restrictions blocking many popular cloud drive services like Google Drive and OneDrive, I'm wondering how companies can collaborate with employees there. I've tried NihaoCloud, but it doesn't function well. Wecom was also rejected by management, and using Synology has been frustrating due to slow connection speeds—it takes ages to upload files since the NAS is located in China. Any recommendations or alternative solutions?

One option you could consider is setting up a private WAN link. It can be a bit costly, but it often provides a more reliable connection for file sharing. This would help bypass many of the restrictions.

Could something like a site-to-site VPN work for you? I know budgets can be tight, especially with different firewalls in each office.

If your server is in China, it might be best to move it to a location like Hong Kong for better access. You could look into self-hosted options like NextCloud, which gives you more control and might work better under the firewall conditions. It’s a bit of extra work but worth it!

I hear that’s the way to go! If you’re in the Asia region, hosting in places like Vietnam or Malaysia could really enhance your speeds.

While it’s not exactly a cloud drive, WeTransfer does seem to work in China. Also, have you considered Alibaba Cloud Drive? It might be a good alternative worth trying!
