I'm currently using an i5 12600kf paired with a 3060 ti, and I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to achieve high FPS at 2K resolution. However, I want to make sure my other components won't bottleneck this upgrade. My budget is around $400, but I'm open to spending more if there's a solid reason to do so. I've been looking at the Intel Core i9 14900k, but I'm concerned about the recent issues related to its voltages.

With a 1440p setup, you shouldn't have any bottleneck issues using an RTX 5070Ti. If you're planning to spend more than $1000 on a GPU though, consider updating your CPU too for the best performance.
As long as you avoid buying a used CPU and update the BIOS properly, you should be fine with the new 14th gen chips. Just be cautious of the voltage concerns they had.
I'd suggest going for an i5 14600k along with a 5070. This combo should significantly boost your FPS without breaking the bank.

Got it! I was worried it was a widespread hardware issue for all the high-end 14th gen processors.
