I'm planning two upgrades and would appreciate some advice. My system currently uses the integrated graphics on a Ryzen 5 5600GT, but I'd like to add a dedicated GPU. I'm also using a Samsung 27-inch 1080p 75Hz monitor and would like to replace it at the same time if the budget allows.
My current build is:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX
- RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
- Storage: SanDisk 1TB NVMe SN850X
- PSU: Corsair RM750e 750W
- Case: Montech Air 903 Max
- Monitor: Samsung 27-inch 1080p 75Hz
I have about $600 total for both upgrades, though I'd prefer to spend less. I mainly play at 1080p, but I'd like a little room for future games. I'm not a competitive gamer, so I'm more interested in good image quality and smooth performance than maximizing esports frame rates.
Ideally, I'd like a monitor with at least 144Hz, 1440p resolution, built-in speakers, and good compatibility with the recommended GPU. Is it realistic to fit both a capable graphics card and a 1440p high-refresh-rate monitor into this budget?

The 16GB RX 9060 XT is a capable 1440p card and can often be found for under about $470. However, pairing it with a decent 1440p high-refresh monitor would likely put the total over $600. You may need to choose between buying the stronger GPU now and keeping your current monitor temporarily, or getting a less expensive GPU so there’s more room for the display.
To get the most graphics performance within the budget, look at a 16GB RTX 5060 Ti. Another strong option is the 16GB Radeon RX 9060 XT, which may offer better value depending on current pricing. The 16GB models are preferable for newer games and for running at 1440p.
