What GPU should I upgrade to from an RTX 2070 Super for under $800?

I'm looking to replace my RTX 2070 Super and have a budget of less than $800. This is for gaming only, and I'm located in the USA. I noticed some RTX 3080 10GB cards selling for around $600–$700 and wondered whether that would be a worthwhile upgrade or if there are better options in that price range.

An RX 9070 would be a solid upgrade from the 2070 Super and should fit comfortably within your budget. If you find a 9070 XT at a good price, that would be worth considering too. Older cards like the 3080 only make sense if you can find one significantly cheaper.

The Radeon RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT would be the strongest options to look at right now. They offer much better value than paying $600–$700 for an older RTX 3080, especially for a new gaming build. Compare prices between the least expensive models and check current performance benchmarks before buying.

That price is far too high for a regular RTX 3080. Those cards should generally be well under $400 on the used market, and even an RTX 3080 Ti should usually come in below $500. With a $600–$700 budget, I’d focus on an RX 9070 or 9070 XT instead.

You may also see discounted RX 6700 XT cards around $479, but I’d only choose one if the price is substantially lower than a newer card. For a budget closer to $600–$800, the RX 9070 series is the better long-term buy.
