I currently have an NVIDIA RTX 3060 and am considering upgrading, but I'm not sure which graphics card would be a worthwhile next step. My budget, power supply, motherboard, monitor resolution, and the games or applications I use haven't been specified yet. A newer mid-to-high-range card could be a reasonable jump, but there isn’t one universal best choice. For a purchase around the upper-midrange tier, compare the total price against actual performance gains rather than choosing based only on the model number.
Before choosing a new card, figure out why the RTX 3060 is no longer meeting your needs. If it still runs the games and settings you want, upgrading may not be worth the current prices. A specific performance goal—higher resolution, better frame rates, or ray tracing—will make the choice much easier.
The right upgrade depends heavily on your budget and the rest of the system. Share your power-supply wattage and available GPU power connectors, motherboard, CPU, monitor resolution and refresh rate, and the games you play. Also check the card’s physical dimensions before buying.
