I'm considering upgrading my GPU and I'm currently using a Radeon RX 580. I'm wondering if the GTX 1660 Super or the RTX 3050 would be a decent upgrade for me.

Both the GTX 1660 Super and the RTX 3050 will outperform the RX 580, but not by enough to justify the upgrade unless they’re very low-priced. The 3060 definitely seems to be the best bet for a significant upgrade.
Another option is to consider the Intel Arc B580 instead. The Nvidia cards around the $250-$300 range haven’t been great in terms of pricing and performance lately.
For around $250, keep an eye out for a used 3060 or even a 3060 Ti. You can often snag them for $150-$250, and they would give you a major boost over the RX 580. Some folks in my area have even spotted 3070s for that price!
Just a heads up, make sure you double-check which version of the RTX 3050 you’re looking at. It comes in two versions: the 6GB and the 8GB. The 8GB version has more cores and is definitely worth getting if you have the choice.
Honestly, I'd say neither the 1660 Super nor the RTX 3050 is a significant upgrade. Although the 1660 Super appears faster on paper, it's not really a 'good' step up. If you're okay with buying used, you might find a 3060 for about $200-$250, which would be a much better choice overall.
