What GPU upgrade works best with a 550W Alienware R10?

I have an Alienware R10 that originally belonged to my aunt. It has a Ryzen 5 3500, RTX 2060 Super, 32GB of RAM after a recent upgrade, and a 550W power supply. I mainly want smoother performance in Forza Horizon 5, Fortnite, and similar games. What graphics card would provide a worthwhile upgrade while staying within the limits of the 550W PSU? I'm also improving the case fans because the system doesn't have liquid cooling, and I'm concerned about Alienware's proprietary hardware and upgrade compatibility.

The power supply, available connectors, and physical card clearance all matter here. A 550W unit may handle something in the RTX 2070 Super or similar range, but the gain over your 2060 Super may not justify the cost, and an RTX 2080 could push the system too far depending on the exact PSU and the rest of the hardware. Check the PSUโs available PCIe cables, the cardโs length and thickness, and its recommended wattage. A power-supply calculator can help, but Alienwareโs proprietary wiring and case layout still need to be checked manually.

The Ryzen 5 3500 could hold back a substantially faster GPU, especially at 1080p and high frame rates. It would be worth considering a stronger compatible Ryzen processor later, but first confirm which CPUs the Alienware motherboard and BIOS support. Alienware systems can have unusual compatibility limits, so donโt assume a standard upgrade will work without checking.

Before choosing a card, check your monitor resolution and refresh rate. For 1080p gaming, the RTX 2060 Super is still capable, so a newer midrange card may not feel like a huge upgrade unless you want higher settings or refresh rates. Something around an RTX 4060 would be reasonable, but a 4060 Ti may offer limited value for this system.
MellowCedar27: Iโm mainly focused on making Forza Horizon 5 and Fortnite feel smoother, so Iโm not necessarily chasing ultra settings. Iโm also upgrading the fans to help with temperatures.

MellowCedar27: Thatโs what worries me most. Iโve heard these systems can be finicky with upgrades, so I want to confirm compatibility before buying anything.
