But when Azure introduced MDM, people were skeptical. Fast forward, and Microsoft rolled out Intune, which actually brought MDM to the cloud, alongside MECM. With features like Autopilot, setting up devices via the cloud has never been easier, showcasing impressive technological progress.
Initially, for every 6 SCCM jobs, there was only one Azure MDM role. Then it shifted to 3 SCCM/MECM jobs for each Intune role. Now, I'm seeing a roughly 1:0 ratio of MECM to Intune jobs. While Intune enables global management, it also means companies can hire talent from anywhere at a fraction of the cost. Even now, I might spot a couple of SCCM/MECM positions, but I'm struggling to find dedicated Intune lead roles, which I haven't seen in ages. Are these jobs now listed under different titles, or have they all been outsourced overseas?

Honestly, there just isn’t enough to do with Intune for it to warrant a full-time position anymore. Most folks I know handle their Intune environments alongside other responsibilities.
