My area has been having frequent outages lately—sometimes four or five in a single day. Next week, my PC is scheduled to perform its usual DDR5 memory training before booting, which normally takes only a few minutes. What could happen if the electricity cuts out while the training is in progress? I'm using an expensive 32 GB × 2 memory kit, so I'm worried about damaging it or having to replace it.

The bigger concern is the unstable power when electricity returns, not the training itself. Turn off the PC and monitor at the outlet when the outage begins, then wait about a minute after power is restored before switching everything back on. A good UPS is an even better option, especially with outages happening several times a day.
If you can schedule the training for a time when the power grid is less stressed, that may reduce the chance of an interruption, but it isn’t a guarantee. Realistically, an outage would usually just mean rebooting and waiting for memory training to run again; it’s very unlikely to fry the RAM by itself.
A power loss during memory training normally won’t damage the RAM. The next time you start the PC, the motherboard should simply attempt the training process again. It may take longer, or it could fall back to safer default memory settings if the previous settings were unstable.

A basic surge protector can help, but its protection components wear down after repeated surges. For frequent outages, a properly rated UPS provides more reliable protection and keeps the computer running long enough to shut down safely.
