Don’t overspend on the cooler expecting extremely low temperatures. X3D processors can still run above 70°C during gaming because the extra cache affects how efficiently heat moves from the chip into the cooler. A good air cooler is enough; focus on case airflow and reasonable fan curves too.
A solid all-around combination would be the MSI B550M Gaming Plus WiFi 6E motherboard and a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE. The board offers good Ryzen 5000 compatibility, built-in Wi-Fi, and useful connectivity, while the dual-tower cooler is more than capable of handling the 5800X3D without spending excessively.
A Thermalright cooler should work well, but choose a dual-tower model rather than a small single-tower heatsink. The Peerless Assassin 120 SE is a particularly good option. Also check your case’s cooler-height clearance and RAM clearance before ordering.
The MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi is another sensible choice and usually offers excellent value for a 5800X3D system. It supports Ryzen 5000 and includes Flash BIOS, which can help if the motherboard arrives with older firmware. The more expensive Gaming Plus model is worth considering mainly if you need its additional wireless or rear I/O features.
