What Monitor Resolution Should I Choose for Gaming?

I'm looking to upgrade my current setup. I have a 1080p 75Hz monitor that I want to keep as a second screen while I invest in a better main monitor. My PC specs include an RTX 4060 graphics card and a Ryzen 5 5600x processor. Can this setup handle a 1440p monitor, or should I just stick to a better 1080p display? Also, for context, I'm more into playing single-player games rather than competitive multiplayer.

You might not be able to crank up all the settings to ultra in 1440p with your current setup, but playing on medium settings is definitely possible. Plus, don’t forget about DLSS! I’d recommend going for a 1440p monitor anyway; it’ll be a worthwhile upgrade, especially if you plan to upgrade your GPU down the line. And if you ever run into issues with performance on a specific game, you can always fall back to your 1080p monitor. But honestly, I think you’ll be fine with 1440p.

That's a good point! Medium settings seem like a sweet spot, and having DLSS can really help boost performance.
