I'm building my first PC and have a budget of £750–£1,000 for the computer itself, not including a monitor or peripherals. I'm based in the UK and would mainly use it for gaming, especially Roblox, Apex Legends, and Counter-Strike, but I'd also like it to handle games such as Elden Ring and Dead by Daylight. I'd really appreciate recommendations for compatible parts or a complete build list.

You can also save money by looking for good used parts. One example build used a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a used Radeon RX 6700 for roughly £645 before peripherals. An X3D processor is especially good for gaming, although availability and pricing can vary. Keeping the total near £1,000 would leave room for a monitor, keyboard, and mouse if you still need them.

A balanced build around this budget could use a Ryzen 5 5600X, a B550 motherboard with Wi-Fi, 16GB of DDR4 memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB. Add a decent 650W power supply and an airflow-focused case, and the total should come close to £1,000. That would be plenty for your esports games and should handle more demanding titles well at 1080p or 1440p.

MellowPanda42: That sounds ideal. I’ll check the parts and see how the prices look.

PCPartPicker is a really useful place to start. It checks whether the components are compatible and lets you compare prices from different UK retailers. Once you have a draft build, it’s worth having someone review it before ordering.

MellowPanda42: Thanks, I’ll use it to put together a list and check everything before buying.
